Student Performance Companies
Charleston Youth Ballet- This program provides a performance outlet to elite students and aspiring young dancers. This select group of advanced students will meet once a week with a primary focus of training in ballet technique, choreographic study, and the art of performance. The company will offer a professional and nurturing atmosphere to set in motion the artistic and technical maturity of today’s young dancers. They will also be a part of the performance outreach program for the Charleston Dance Institute.
**Audition Information**
- Auditions will be held Saturday, August 24 at 1:00pm
- Minimum age to audition is 12 years old
- Please bring Ballet and Pointe shoes
- $15 Audition Fee Required (cash or check)
Charleston Broadway Dance Ensemble- This class is an in depth choreographic project entailing the process by which dancers can take a story based on a musical theatre format and translate it entirely into dance vocabulary. Not only will the dancers use Broadway’s jazz technique, but they will also be asked to interpret through the vernacular of ballet and modern styles. This intense study will work toward the goal of performing a full length work at the end of the school’s season.

- Minimum age to audition is 10 years old
- Please bring jazz shoes
